/ 01 Digital marketing agency in Dhanbad

A coal townwith no FM station of its own.

Likes and views do not pay a mine supplier or a family shop. Only enquiries do.

PromotEdge plans Google search, social media ads, websites and Hindi newspaper ads for Dhanbad firms, and judges each one by the enquiries it brings you.

Dhanbad has two kinds of buyer. One is the engineer or purchase officer who checks every detail before ordering. The other is the family that shops and studies here. A firm that repairs mining pumps and a shop selling school uniforms need very different plans.

The district's own website calls it the "Coal Capital of India". Bharat Coking Coal Ltd (BCCL), a Coal India company, has its head office here at Koyla Bhawan.

We look at your business first and marketing second. How many calls and forms reach you each month, where from, and how many become orders? One team then handles digital marketing (SEO and your website), advertising in Hindi papers, and BTL, meaning marketing where you meet buyers face to face, such as fair stalls.

How we deliver it, and why

How your business model changes the plan

A firm selling to mines wins on specs, safety papers and search, so its website comes first (industrial manufacturing). A transport firm needs to be easy to find (logistics). A school or institute plans around admission months (education). A shop or jeweller plans around the festival month.

  1. Start with your enquiry book. Your next rupee belongs where enquiries already come from. A one-page map of calls, forms and orders.
  2. Plan for plants and families separately. A purchase team checks specs and papers. A family looks at trust and price. One short plan per buyer.
  3. Choose papers and phones by area. With no private FM here, towns lean on phones and blocks often on Hindi print. Paper rates checked with you before booking.
  4. Report every month. Cost per lead shows what to stop. Enquiries by source.

Local economy: Dhanbad's industries, companies and chambers

Industries

An older Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) district profile (data around 2010-11) names coal and electricity as the main exportable items. It counts 410 mineral-based small units, 261 in garments and embroidery, 225 in repair and servicing and 213 in wood furniture. The Chirkunda cluster makes fire clay bricks, a heat-proof kind.

Companies and institutions

IIT (ISM) opened in 1926 as the Indian School of Mines, became an IIT in 2016, and lists 18 departments. The mines safety regulator DGMS has been headquartered here since 1908, and CSIR's mining and fuel research lab (CIMFR) is also here. East Central Railway's Dhanbad division reports 30 million tonnes of coal loaded from April to August 2026. HURL, a joint venture of CIL, NTPC, IOCL, FCIL and HFCL, runs a revived fertiliser unit at Sindri. A 2009 Tata Steel release describes six Jharia collieries at Sijua and Jamadoba.

Chambers

We found no official website for a Dhanbad chamber of commerce, so none is named here. The Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce & Industries (FJCCI) works at state level from Ranchi.

AI in digital marketing: today and next

Today

Google says its Gemini web app works in more than 70 languages, including Hindi, Bengali and Urdu. That helps with first drafts of ad lines for homes that speak several languages. A native reader checks each line, and an engineer checks each spec.

/ 02 The Dhanbad market

Coal, Hindi print and a crowded festival season.

Three facts a digital marketing company in Dhanbad should plan around.

1. Coal pays many bills here, and last year it slowed. BCCL ran 34 mines in September 2025, in the Jharia coalfield in Jharkhand and the Raniganj coalfield in West Bengal.

Its own filing shows 35.52 million tonnes of coal in 2025-26, 12.3% less than the 40.50 million tonnes of the year before. Most of it is coking coal, the kind used to make steel.

From April to September 2025, power plants bought about 75% of its coal by value and steel makers about 18%.

Jharkhand holds about 23.3% of India's coal, second only to Odisha (Ministry of Coal).

If most of your orders come from the mines, a slower year can reach you too. Cut spend that brings no enquiries, and look for buyers beyond one company.

2. Hindi and phones carry the load. People speak Hindi and Khortha, Bengali and Urdu at home (Census 2011, as shown on Wikipedia; we give no shares).

TRAI, the telecom regulator, counted 22.69 million internet subscriptions in Jharkhand in March 2026: about 93 for every 100 people in towns, but only 41 in villages.

The district has 1,209 villages.

In town, phone ads and Google do most of the work. In the blocks, a Hindi paper often reaches people a phone ad misses.

3. A month of festivals starts within days. The district lists Durga Puja, Chhath, Diwali, Holi, Eid, Sarhul and Christmas among its festivals.

Jharkhand's 2026 list puts the Durga Puja holidays on 19 and 20 October and Diwali on 8 November. Chhath follows on 15 and 16 November.

Shops and jewellers plan much of their year around it. Firms that sell to the mines plan around tenders and budgets.

What a Dhanbad planhas to work around.

WhatIn DhanbadWhat it means for your plan
RadioNo Dhanbad entry on the information ministry's private FM list of 30 March 2026. The Akashvani rate card (June 2017) has no Dhanbad line.If someone sells "Dhanbad radio", ask which station it is and where it reaches.
Hindi dailiesPrabhat Khabar, Dainik Jagran, Hindustan and Dainik Bhaskar are members of the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) with a Dhanbad edition. No English paper is. Chamakta Aina says it is published from Jamshedpur and Dhanbad. With no local FM, Hindi print reaches many homes at once. Ask each paper for current figures.
BCCLSet up on 1 January 1972, and listed on the stock exchanges on 19 January 2026.A listed company publishes its output every month. Suppliers can read the trend before planning spend.
Jharia Master PlanApproved on 25 June 2025 with ₹5,940 crore, to move 15,080 families by December 2028. By January 2026, 1,136 families had moved.New homes mean new shopping and school needs. Check where families are moving before you pick areas.
Golf Ground fairsThe textiles ministry's craft office held a 100-stall Gandhi Shilp Bazar here in March 2023. A 32-stall district fair was listed for October 2025.A place to meet shoppers face to face. Count the enquiries a stall brings, not the crowd.

Sources as cited in each row, checked 4 October 2026. Festival dates come from HR sites quoting Jharkhand Gazette No. 542, not the gazette itself.

/ 04 Cost

What affects the cost of marketing in Dhanbad.

No price list. These things move the number.

Ad spend, newspaper space, stalls and travel are charged at actual cost, and you see each one before you approve it.

What affects the cost

  • Your buyer: purchase teams at mines and plants, or families in the city
  • How far you sell: Dhanbad town only, the whole district, or other states
  • Channels: online only, or with Hindi dailies and outdoor
  • Website work for technical buyers: product specs, safety papers and enquiry forms
  • Festival timing: Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath fall within one month in 2026

How we price it

  1. We first ask who signs your orders: a purchase team or a family.
  2. We read your current website, listings and enquiry forms.
  3. A written scope follows, split by buyer and by channel, with each cost on its own line.

What you get in the quote

  • Site work for technical buyers: product specs and safety papers
  • Search and ad management, with a monthly report
  • Hindi daily and outdoor rates, if chosen, at actuals

Put agency quotes side by side. Check GST, ad spend and who will actually do the work.

/ 05 How we serve Dhanbad

Planned online. Checked against Dhanbad numbers.

Dhanbad work is served by our servicing team, based in cities across India, on calls and shared screens, with visits when needed.

Meetings and shoots. Most clients first talk to us on a video call. For the planning meeting, a shoot or a launch, we travel to you, and we meet you in Dhanbad at least once every three months. The district lists Kolkata airport at 269 km, and the old NH 2 runs through the city.

Online work. Our team runs SEO (search engine optimisation: getting found on Google without paying for each click), Google and Meta ads, websites and social media. The ad accounts, the domain and the website stay in your name.

Print, fairs and stalls. We book Hindi dailies and check the rate with you before we pay. With no private FM here, that budget usually goes to print or phone ads. Stalls and launches are delivered by our in-house team, placed at your venue or plant where a job needs it.

Languages. If your buyers read Hindi, we plan a Hindi version of your ads. Through our language partners we create content in English, Hindi, Bengali and more, and our team plans and checks it.

Planning for Durga Puja, Diwali or Chhath? Tell us the dates and we will check what is still bookable. Talk to us

Selling in Dhanbad?

Bring your enquiry book. We'll show you where it leaks.

Or leave your number. A strategist calls you in one working day.

We use these details only to call you back. Privacy policy.

Common questions.

  • Your Dhanbad account is run by our servicing team, based in cities across India, through calls, shared screens and shared reports. We come to Dhanbad for the planning meeting, shoots and events, and meet you there at least once every three months. When a job needs it, we place one of our team at your office or plant.

  • We won't give ourselves that label, and nobody can prove it. A better question is which agency fits your business. Ask for proof from your industry, the person who will handle your account, and a written scope with each cost on its own line. Then compare, us included.

  • Yes. The district has 10 blocks, including Nirsa, Govindpur, Baghmara, Tundi and Topchanchi, plus many villages. Village reach usually needs Hindi print as well as phone ads, because internet use in Jharkhand's villages is less than half of its towns (TRAI, March 2026).

  • Yes, where your buyers need it. Many families here speak Hindi or Khortha at home, and others speak Bengali or Urdu. Engineers and purchase teams may search in English. Through our language partners we create content in English, Hindi, Bengali and more, so we pick the mix with you.

  • For Durga Puja on 19 and 20 October, time is short. Digital ads can still go live within days, but good paper slots may be gone. Diwali on 8 November and Chhath on 15 and 16 November leave four to five weeks. That is enough for search, social and Hindi print, if you book papers this week.

  • Yes, with care. We found no published hoarding rules for the city. Before you pay for a site, ask its owner for written permission and keep a copy. If you plan outdoor marketing in Dhanbad, we check this with you first. This is general guidance, not legal advice.

  • Not by default, but spend more carefully. BCCL's own filing shows 12.3% less coal in 2025-26 than the year before. If one buyer gives you most of your orders, that hurts. We would cut what brings no enquiries, then use search to reach buyers in other coalfields and industries. The decision stays with you.
